Gender Dysphoria Resource and Education

Gender DysphoriaWelcome to the Gender Dysphoria Organization for education and support of gender identity disorders. This site is a compilation of over forty years of personal experience and exhaustive research on the subject of gender dysphoria and transgenderism.

Growing up during the 1950's, little was known about the transgender phenomenon except for the story of a Bronx native, George William Jorgensen, Jr., who became, not the first transsexual patient, but the most famous at the time - Christine Jorgensen. Ms. Jorgensen sadly passed away on May 3, 1989 but has left her mark on a great number of individuals who grew up confused about their gender identity during a time when it was considered an aberration or a mental sickness to have such thoughts.

Gender DysphoriaSo much has been learned since those dark days yet so much more needs to be learned from plethora of information gleaned from the thousands of transgendered individuals that have made that arduous journey as well as from the tens of thousands who have yet to discover themselves for who they truly are. The information contained on these pages have a remarkable history and have been written by some amazing people representing many of the organizations that exist to help those with gender dysphoria or are transgendered.

It is no longer necessary to keep your feelings hidden away when there are so many organizations available for the support and treatment of gender identity issues. The World Wide Web has an unlimited supply of information a mouse click away but not all the information is designed to help you or your family and friends understand what you are experiencing. Many will outline a recipe for undergoing Sex Reassignment Surgery (SRS) but do not offer the support that is desperately needed for a successful transition.

I know this all too well as I have gone through it all, from fantasizing as a child, years of therapy as a confused adolescent, self-mutilation, self-medicating, seeking medical care and finally surgical transformation. Some of my experiences were not pleasant, nor were they intelligent, and could have ended tragically, but through support, education, spiritual enlightenment and professional care I am well on my way to becoming a complete and content human being.

I hope the information contained within this site can be of service to you and please feel free to with any questions you may have or just to exchange some ideas and information. Either way, you are welcome here and we wish you well with your journeys.
